For hikers…
In just a few minutes, the cable car takes you to a height of over 2,000 metres on the high plateau of Monte Cavallo-Rosskopf, which welcomes you with its wide mountain meadows and its endless panoramic views on the Zillertal Alps, the Dolomites, the Sarntal Alps and the Stubai Alps.
Many hiking trails, from easy to demanding, wind their way up the mountain. There are plenty of hiking tips: those who prefer it a little easier can hike from the mountain station along the Kastellacke biotope to the Vallming alpine village. Or you can do the circular hiking tour on the Flaner Jöchl.
If you want to go higher, you can try the Dolomieu Trail, which leads you to the Val di Fleres passing through Ladurns. Moreover, we highly recommend you the picturesque Ridanna High Trail, which leads to Ridanna passing along the Prischeralm mountain hut.
For families…
Have you ever been to a mountain zoo?
The "Rossy Park" petting zoo is located right next to the Monte Cavallo-Rosskopf mountain station. Besides goats, ponies and donkeys, here you will also find llamas and alpacas. And if you wish, you can also take part in a llama trekking!
Hiking enthusiasts can also let off steam on Monte Cavallo-Rosskopf. Many hiking trails invite discovery-loving families to stroll through thick forests, search for traditional alpine pastures and explore the natural landscape.
Our tip: Family hike to the Kastellacke biotope. Starting at the mountain station, follow the hiking trail no. 19 along the mountain hut Sterzinger Haus. From here you can comfortably walk to the Kastellacke biotope.
For mountain bikers…
Mountain bike fans watch out!
There are more than 70 different MTB tours in the Vipiteno region, some of which are located on the Monte Cavallo-Rosskopf.
A popular, quite classic circular tour leads you from Vipiteno via Telves up to Monte Cavallo-Rosskopf and on to Mazzes. 970 meters of altitude difference to overcome!
If you prefer a more comfortable ride on two wheels, we recommend you the circular tour from Monte Cavallo-Rosskopf to the Vallming alpine village, with a slight ascent and enchanting panoramic views.
The mountain bike tour from the Monte Cavallo-Rosskopf cable car via the mountain refuges Furlhütte and Sternhütte to the Ochsenalm mountain hut is also worthwhile. The way back leads you to the valley station passing through Telves.

On the ski paradise Monte Cavallo-Rosskopf you can try out 10 variegated and sun-kissed ski slopes of all levels of difficulty: 20 kilometres of pure ski fun!
Those who are still a little shaky on their skis can try their first swings in the beginner's area, while more experienced skiers can enjoy steeper and more challenging slopes for a real experience of adrenaline-pumping fun!
For tobogganists…
Another must-see attraction on Monte Cavallo-Rosskopf is the
10 km long toboggan run, which provides plenty of snow fun both during the day and in the evening.
Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, the toboggan run is even open until midnight and invites sledding enthusiasts kids and adults to a special snow experience: Night sledging on Italy's longest illuminated toboggan run!

Moving away from the slopes, on Monte Cavallo-Rosskopf there are some beautiful winter hiking trails. The winter circular hike to the Flaner Jöchl is particularly popular with families.
